Heinrich Brambilla

Heiner Wiedemann has entered the fashion world 15 years ago.  As a newcomer and whithout any professional or educational background in fashion or dressmaking, but in art history, he impressed very soon with his skills in pattern making.

We were very fond to see Heiner winning the Prix Bolero in 1999, then one of Switzerland's most prestigious fashion awards. His creations are inspired by the glamorous decades of the 20th century, the 20s, 30s, 40s up to the 60s, and he is known for combining clear lines with beautiful drapings that echoe the art of haute couture

For his current collection he creates jackets, coats and dresses with strong shoulders in a fourties-style that dissolve into soft drapings. There are also more deconstructed pieces with abstract or geometrical cuts. One of my favourite pieces is the Parker blouson in a heavy wool with a rabbit-fur collar and great volumes in the back and the kimono-sleeves. A simple-looking piece that gives a striking silhouette.

The collection Heinrich Brambilla can be viewed by appointment or at Zürich-edition of the upcoming event "Mode Suisse": www.modesuisse.com
